Indian Punjabi singer, songwriter and poet, Satinder Sartaaj captivated the audience at Leicester’s Demontfort Hall, through the beauty of his words, lyrics and music, as he performed at his Mehfil-e-Sartaaj concert.
Making his debut in Leicester, the Sufi maestro, lightened up the stage, as he entered dazzling in his orange traditional Indian outfit, to a huge round of applause from the audience.
The singer, who gained fame with his hit song “Cheere Waleya”, embraced the audience by taking them on a musical journey into life’s meaning, by sharing his deepest feelings through his music.

Dr. Satinder Pal Singh, popularly known as Satinder Sartaaj, is a multifaceted artist who weaves magic through his soulful voice, poetic lyrics, and captivating performances. Born in the serene village of Bajrawar in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, Sartaaj has left an indelible mark on the world of Punjabi music, poetry, and cinema.
Sartaaj’s artistic journey began at a young age. While attending the government elementary school in his village, he discovered his passion for music. His melodious voice echoed in local Bal Sabhas, hinting at the brilliance that lay ahead. Later, he pursued an honors degree in music from Government College, Hoshiarpur, where he honed his craft. But Sartaaj’s thirst for knowledge didn’t stop there. He delved deeper into Sufi music, earning an MPhil and a PhD in Sufi singing from Panjab University, Chandigarh. His academic pursuits were complemented by a certificate course and a Diploma in the Persian language.
