    Shirley Jean Allerton Homan, 78, of Teaberry Place, Fishersville,VA, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010, at the Shenandoah House, Fishersville. She was born April 9, 1931 in Ticonderoga, NY, daughter of the late Leonard Lewis Allerton and Margaret Tilden Allerton.

    Shirley graduated from Silver Creek High School, Silver Creek, NY, in 1948 and attended Elmira College and Allbright Art College in Buffalo, NY. On May 31, 1952, she married Richard Harold Homan.

    Over the years, she worked for the New York Telephone Co., her hometown newspaper, Avon Central School as guidance office secretary, Genesee Country Museum as a docent in the Art Gallery and a costumed interpreter in select historical buildings.

    She was a dedicated wife and mother whose interests included drawing, painting and sewing.

    In Avon, NY, Mrs. Homan was a Girl Scout leader, Welcome Wagon hostess and member of the Zion Episcopal Church Altar Guild. She taught private art students in Avon and neighboring Caledonia, NY.

    Shirley was an active member in the Batavia Society of Artists, participating as an officer as well as artist. She also did charitable artwork for the Batavia, NY Historical Society.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Aller

    Raymond E. Pagels, 73, of Oakfield passed away on August 2, 2023 at Rochester General Hospital. He was born in East Bethany on October 11, 1949 to the late Raymond and Edna (Armstrong) Pagels. In addition to his parents, Ray is predeceased by a sister; Helena Pritchard; brother-in-law Charles Getch. 

    Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years; Charlotte (Hallauer) Pagels; children Raymond (Luann) Pagels, Diane Krawczyk and Kenneth (Jamey) Pagels; siblings Patricia Getch, Norm (Evelyn) Pagels, Bill (Bridgette) Pagels and John Pagels; grandchildren Zachary Krawczyk, Justin Krawczyk, Kasey Pagels and Brook Pagels, along with several nieces and nephews.

    There will be no prior calling hours and Services will be held privately.
